  • Lie on a firm surface with your knees bent.

  • The separation may potentially start near the bottom of your bra and end after your belly button so it’s best to test the full length of your abdominals.

  • To start......place your index finger and middle finger at the midpoint of your abdominal muscles and gently lift your head and the top of shoulders.

  • Feel if there is a gap caused by making this increase in pressure.

  • Return to the start position (head back on the ground) take a moment and then MOVE YOUR FINGERS DOWN A FEW INCHES and perform the LIFT AND FEEL strategy again.

  • Keep going until you get to two inches past your belly button.

  • When you feel a gap, measure its WIDTH using your index finger and middle finger as a guide.

  • Also what does the midline tissue feel like? Is it very slack and papery or is it firm? How much resistance is there to your fingers pressing?
