Ingredients

For the stuffed dates:

  • 12 Medjool dates, pitted

  • 3-4 tbsp almond butter

  • ¼ cup whole almonds or chopped almonds

For the homemade cacao chocolate sauce:

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted

  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

Method

  1. Slice each date lengthways, gently open and remove stone.

  2. Fill each date with a half a teaspoon of almond butter.

  3. Add one whole almond or a sprinkle of chopped almonds inside each date.

  4. Place the stuffed dates on a lined tray.

  5. Make the cacao sauce by mixing melted coconut oil, raw cacao powder, honey or maple syrup, and almond butter until smooth and glossy.

  6. Drizzle the cacao sauce over the stuffed dates.

  7. Place in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to allow the sauce to set.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
